Afremov graduated from Vitebsk Art School. The school Leonid graduated from was founded by Mark Chagall in 1921.There were two other people that attended the famous school of arts ( Vitebsk) . Afremov worked a lot and was apart of many exhibitions in Vitebsk . Leonid has lived in Israel since 1990. Afremov is known for being a very unique painter. He doesn't use normal paint brushes; he uses a palette-knife as his preferred technique. Afremov uses original, light colors and has a gentle style that Afremov has been known for many years.
